Its Yugadi again

Happy Yugadi to everyone...

Its Yugadi again........ One year went by with so much speed......and so many things happened this year...

Everything was going so smoothly this year until this January....

We lost our uncle and in February We lost our Grandpa :(

My Grandpa was like a hero to me.... He loved everybody and was sooo caring...Though his look was totally opposite........... But he was the best grandfather one could have .... Its been exactly a month and I miss him everyday.... :(

I  have not made anything special for this year Yugadi that is our New Year....... These are the Ganeshas that I had made for Ganesha Chaturthi last September...... and I had not posted them.....

The first two are Quilled Ganesha.... and the third Ganesha is made using banana shoot ( Last pic).

We had brought this for cooking and I used the outer layers for making this Ganesha and the rest ....

Gifting Ideas!!!!!!!!

Here are a few ideas for gifting for the Christmas, new year ad the wedding season.........
This first one ..... I had made this one for my neighbour's child's Birthday......
Simple flower............Easy to make and it looks great tooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

These bags , I had made during Diwali..... The funny part is that, the sweet boxes which I had brought didnt fit into these bags....

Well at the last minute I had to make new bags for the sweets and in a hurry, I forgot to take the photoes... :(

Anyway I used these for gifting books to a few children!!!!!!

Have used Zari tapes .... which gives these newspaper bags more strength.... and goes with the festive mood too!!!

This box contains some tiny ceramic jewellery boxes and was meant for a wedding.....

This friend of mine loves everything natural and recycled......

So I decoratedd this box using these pressed flowers.......which I have many and yet I found it hard to part with... ;)
Well thats me.... cant help it :)

Funny right? Ya!! THis one was for my kiddo's friend who is a bit bossy and likes to race in his bicycle throughout the day...!!!!!!

This one was an experiment !!!

Well I am not so satisfied with this one.... have to try again!!!!

I know I am totally late.... But better late than never....:)
Kannada Rajyotsavada Shubhashayagalu!!!
Karnataka was formed on November 1st in 1973.....
Until then ours was Mysore region.....
So on november 1st we celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava or Karnataka Formation Day...
On this day, we hoist our Kannada flag, the red and yellow flag...........
So I had thought of doing something related to this theme in these colours!!!!
But I had done this Quilled bird and had forgotten all about it!!!!!
Now suddenly yesterday, when I was searching for something else among my arty things , I found this and so I am posting this atleast now :) :) :)

Here are a few other Gejje Vastra that my Mom has done...
She does these every year for the Gouri and Ganesh Festival....

GEJJE VASTRA

Gejje vastra or gejjostra.... these are ornaments made out of cotton....
Of course I didnt made these... These are my Mom's crafting.....
We use these Gejjostra as ornaments for God... in almost all festivals....




My Mom uses cotton.......... and.............

These shiny paper............. which are actually coulured aluminium sheets.........

Which is cut into small pieces...............

The final product looks like these......

Using a little bit of creativity, flowers and necklaces are made.....

I had made these candles for this year's Diwali!!
I am stuck with Orange colour!! What to do?!?!?!
I like white too
So I made these white candles!!!

I still have a lot of wax and I am intending to make a few more candles.......
Coz I have burnt most of these candles!!!! :(

Also these are a few decorations I made these for this Diwali!!!!!

I changed alot of these decorations ..............I tried different combinations..........
